The best anti-wrinkle cream is…..SUNBLOCK….it will STOP you from getting wrinkles. Use a really good (medical grade) sunblock and use it daily/every morning as part of your routine, a 30 SPF…on your face, neck, hands and decollete. It’s a pain in the b*tt but trust me, you will appreciate this later and get used to it. If you go out on the sun/to the beach, reapply every hour and I’m not kidding…and wear a hat. You won’t get as tan but you will still get tan, and you will look more gorgeous when you’re older too, than those who baked themselves into a pizza…
If you get serious about your skincare, use an Antioxidant serum first under your sunblock and your skin will love you. There are tons out there, at CVS they sell LaRoche Posay brand, all you need for great skin are 3 things that have been proven clinically:
1 – antioxidant vitamin c (serum is the typical form)
2 – Retinoid product
3 – glycolic acid (like a chemical peel)
and
4 – sunblock sunblock sunblock
I recommend NIA24 sunblock (www.niadyne.com), it’s awesome and it strengthens your skin as well as improving past sun damage with Niacin and this is the best Niacin product out there….there are tons of products out there for wrinkles, one that I love is Remergent DNA Repair Serum that was just bought out by Topix/renamed, it truly helps improve your skin’s appearance but it is $$ ($95?). If you don’t want to spend the $ on the NIA24 sunblock, try the Neutrogena sunblocks with Helioplex, they are pretty good.
When you get older, a little bit of Botox in that wrinkle will help. Also, keep your skin moisturized at all times (a non-oily one when you’re younger, then switch to a thick one when your skin gets dry/as you’re older)
Also, read magazines like Allure (the current issue is esp. good, Feb 2009) for recommendations about skincare, they are obsessed about skin…all of them will tell you what derms recommend, and derms cover up with sunblock religiously, trust me — they’ve seen it all. Only see derms with amazing skin.
Products like tretinoin work well but shouldn’t be used long term.
Most anti-wrinkle creams do not work. They look pretty fancy and they have all of these added vitamins. But, if you look the ingredients most of the first twenty or so are alcohol and chemicals.
I use tretinion cream which is Vitamin A and that is one of the best anti-wrinkle creams. I also use Aubrey Organics Collegen Moisturizer at night.
Eating healthy and exercise is also helpful. I have also heard that sleeping on your side can maximize wrinkles.
Seems strange!don’nt sleep on your face in the night and if ur skin is dry apply almond oil in the night when you sleep or vaseline with honey in the night. This will definitely help if done regularly and you will fill ur skin different in a lot more ways. Dont 4get my 10 points!!!
